A place for facts and descriptions about characters played or mentioned by me in passing, or who have some background relevance to my main character roster. Because I enjoy putting way, way, waaaaaay more thought into this game than is necessary. No, no I do not have a real life.
Feel free to check up for occasional updates (such as edits in certain specific info posts).
A Greater Being of Creation, the central figure of the Triietclo-Cloerith religion (sometimes shortened to "Triitcloth") native to the Trii Galoria (transl; "Three Kingdoms") region comprised of the Empire of Giovenith, the Kingdom of Hadenyx, and the Queendom of Seryica. A benevolent being with a great association with dragons, and the parthenogenic mother of Giovenith (the character) and her siblings.
Early "life"
By her nature, Pearlelei has always existed and therefore has no true "beginning," and her "life" before the Creation of the Omniverse cannot be entirely comprehended by lesser minds. According to Giovenith, the closest she has come to describing it was that she was "bright and unknowable," knew that she had a name but never had a reason to use it, and was capable of love but had nothing upon which to demonstrate it. She often "slept" because there was literally Nothing to be awake for, but eventually (or shortly, as time as understood now wasn't a factor) grew so sickened and frustrated by the eternal Nothing that she wanted it to, "stop being Nothing," i.e., Pearlelei apparently viewed the Creation at the time as something of a forced transformation.
Due to being a Creator, Pearlelei has been around to witness every era in history and is a familiar force to most other higher powers, most of which regard her as a pleasant and likable Being. It is mentioned that she currently holds the bottom spot of Malice's "Gods To Kill" list due to her kind reputation. However, like most gods, Pearlelei's moral standards have swung in varying directions throughout history depending on the context of the era, and it is mentioned in passing by Giovenith that the Being has had her moments of brutality, vengeance, and Disproportionate Retribution. One of the quickest ways to piss her off, according to multiple characters, is to do ill towards dragons, which are her sacred animal, unless there is good and reasonable cause such as self-defense. Because of this, Pearlelei and her followers developed a notorious prejudice toward European-style knights during the Middle Ages, an attitude that persists today and one that even Giovenith shares; early attempts to Christianize the Trii Galoria region often included campaigns to slay dragons in imitaton of Saint George both as a way for foreign knights to gain glory and to symbolically show dominance over the native pagan faith, which were responded to with counter-campaigns by Triitcloth followers to hunt down and brutally lynch knights, some of which were lead by Pearlelei's oldest daughter, Aeritha.
Despite being an eternal being with infinite points in history to choose from, Pearlelei is enamored with the late 1970s and entire 1980s in particular for some reason. During this era, she created an enchanted mix tape and first created her current mortal persona, Christina Jerid, who lives in a penthouse above a still-operating dance club from the period.
Personality and interests
Pearlelei is constantly facilitating between "graceful, motherly force of eternity," a regular woman, and an extremely quirky being who sometimes puts sentimentality and fun before propriety appearances. While she holds affinity for beautiful things such as stars, jewels, or silks, she also seems to have no aversion to "gross" things, having no issue dwelling in swamps, consuming putrid mixtures of raw or lightly cooked meat, and coughing up food for baby dragons. She is often extremely cheerful in the presence of company or when spoiling her children to the point of simpering, but like all, can become snappish and cranky when stressed. She is also extremely patient and difficult to offend, and even when angered, rarely ever lashes out with her power. Not particularly judgmental of background, she keeps mortal friends from the likes everything from politician to prostitute.
Pearlelei does not hold much taste in imitating human excess to represent her godhood, i.e., she does not construct palaces to be her realms, or sit on thrones when addressing, or announce her presence with ceremonies, nor maintain many immortal servants. She seems to prefer naturalistic and conceptually abstract appearances for her Heaven, it taking forms such as forests, pools, rooms without walls or ceilings, or domes that reflect outer space whenever shown, and keeps the maintenance of her pantheon's affairs relegated to a small circle mostly comprised of her own children. Similarly, most of her interests pertaining to the mortal realm are mundane, enjoying community outreach, diners, the occasional spa, environmentalism, and SNL. She enjoys reading Voltaire and her favorite instrument is the synthesizer. She has no romantic or sexual history and doesn't have the desire to create any, being that all she needs are her kids, her dragons, her friends, and her followers. She sometimes gets temporarily hooked on personal trends before dropping them, including dolls, aquariums, antiques, and snowcone making.
As a parent, Pearlelei takes a very wholesome approach (at least with the youngest ones), raising them in a very "PBS" environment with a focus on empathy, learning, and comfort. As such, her younger children are a little babied but very well-behaved and kind. When she wishes to scold them severely, she often morphs her face into a more hideously draconic form and roars at them.
Pearlelei spends much of her free time interacting with dragons, both in the wild and in human captivity. She does not have personal "pet" dragons that she keeps, seeing them not as animals to keep for her amusement but rather as peers, though she does take in and raise dracolings whose own mothers were unable to for one reason or another (they live in her hair). She has a name for every single one of her dragons in existence.
Christina Jerid
Christina Jerid is Pearlelei's human persona used to walk on Earth and interact with the everyday mortal as well as just to generally represent herself in a more humble form even to those who know her true nature instead of her tall, shimmering, goddess look. Christina Jerid is a detective for the Giovenithian Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) who specializes in tracking and acting against The Platinum Society for Distinguished Ladies - or "Platsies" - an international matriarchal mafia often posing as a non-profit elite organization dedicated to the fine upbringing of young women. Her efforts are well-known toFairy Godmother, Sylvia Sawyer Morris, who considers Det. Jerid her sworn enemy but ironically excuses her own actions with the self-assurance that Pearlelei forgives her as long as she remains religiously faithful. Sylvia Sawyer Morris is the estranged mother of "Princess" Tiffany Morris.
Pantheon/Family
Pearlelei has six children total, all born via divine parthenogensis, and all born gods. Although technically two already are fully grown gods, only Pearlelei is known to the wider worship context due to the relative youth of the rest of them.
Aeritha, the oldest and her first daughter, born during the 1100s AD. She is the Triitcloth goddess of hardship, hard work, perseverance, and unofficially, vengeance, due to her part in the persecution of knighthoods and similar foreign influences during the Middle Ages as well as general evil-doers. Due to these actions, she actually is known as a folklore figure in the culture, though not yet as a god. As the oldest, she is second in command of the entire pantheon and thus likes to keep note on the whereabouts and welfare of all her younger siblings. She is very blase and close to her mother, and today works a lot in directing and producing local theater.
Haletrynx, the second oldest and first son, born during the 1600s AD. He is the Triitcloth god of passageway, direction, and "content knowledge" - the point at which you have learned enough in life to be able to effectively guide others with your own experience. He functions as the pantheon's psychopomp and watches over the entrances to Pearlelei's Heaven. As such, he prefers to spend time alone, but does have a fairly friendly relationship with his older sister. He loves his younger siblings but does not enjoy being put in charge of any of them, often losing track of them when they younger if he was. He is very talented in classical music, providing the scores to many of Aeritha's theater productions.
Antonai (appearing under the name "Hadenyx" in PL), the third oldest and second son, born in 1994 AD. He is the first of the "second batch" of Pearlelei's children, the ones born close together in the modern age with several hundred years difference between their older siblings and them. He is still just a godling, though on the cusp of going through a "spiritual puberty" that will start his path to true godhood, after which he will be the god of curiosity and beginnings. He is very level-headed and a bit of a nerd, being an avid reader, and was close with Giovenith in childhood. He is the only sibling of Giovenith's who is in a relationship, engaged to an Australian-Giovenithian woman named Kathandra Oranger.
Giovenith, we all know who this is. The third youngest and second daughter, born in 1996 AD, she is meant to be the goddess of the rewards of victory, i.e., things we only get in life after much struggle and hard work, both in small scales (a personal sense of satisfaction and pride in completing a task) and large (a country can only enjoy culture and safety once it has fortified itself and sculpted an identity from history).
Seryica, second youngest and third daughter, born in 1998 AD but physically appears to be Giovenith's twin, i.e., born in 1996. A weird case of a child, born nearly on a whim and already two years old in physical form, plus the only daughter to have cherry red hair instead of white. She will grow up to be the goddess of the lessons of failure, Giovenith's opposite; her association is not of sadness, but rather of learning, and it is often in failure that we forge the strongest bonds with those close to us. She is more introverted, logical, and clean-cut than her not-really-twin and possess a greater understanding of the consequences and necessities of goddesshood. Just as Giovenith can control paper, Seryica can control magical pick-up sticks that aid her using geometry.
Serphinia, youngest child overall and fourth daughter, the baby of the family. Born in 2012 AD, it's not quite clear yet what Serphinia will be the goddess of, but whatever it is, it's sure to be great! She's still in that phase of her life where her dragon instincts overlap with her people instincts, and she is very advanced for her age due to being a godling.
Mortals:
Kathandra Oranger, a human woman from the Empire of Giovenith (the country) whose parents are from Australia. She is the fiancée of Antonai and "in on" his divine heritage. She is a very smart, strong (both inward and outwardly) woman, another bookworm and a black belt in krav maga to be specific. She takes being an unofficial member of the pantheon in stride and isn't interested in using godly power for personal gain. Giovenith does not trust her, Kathandra knows this, but she really would like to earn the little godling's friendship.
Jensinhai, was a little orphan boy from the 1800s who died in a fire along with his friend Zalacorth but was subsequently resurrected by and brought into the service of Pearlelei for unclear reasons. He used to blame the goddess for his miserable lot in life, but now serves her enthusiastically now that he understands how "cool" she really is. He is an energetic and somewhat naughty child, and one of only two eternal servants Pearlelei keeps around. He is eternally 11.
Zalacorth, was a little girl from the 1800s who died in a fire along with her friend Jensinhai but was subsequently resurrected by and brought into the service of Pearlelei for unclear reasons. She was religiously loyal to Pearlelei in life and often tried to convince Jensinhai of the Greater Being's good intentions even when times seemed rough, as he had been committed to community service with her financially failing temple at the time. When it seemed like her temple was going to be sold off she hid inside out of sadness, Jensinhai came looking for her, and such was how they wound up caught in a burning building. Pearlelei let her greet her surviving family members upon their death, which helped put her at peace. She is shy, quiet, but lovely, and remains eternally 10.
